Events in the Town of Amherst

Take a step back in time to learn about education, entertainment, and farming in Amherst County during the Colonial Era. Interpreters will demonstrate flax dressing, carding wool, spinning, silversmithing, and bookmaking. There will also be Revolutionary War soldiers and civilians in camp, a fifer and drummer, and batteaumen.

Children and adults will be able to participate in period games such as graces, hoop rolling, battledore and shuttlecock, quoits, and cup-and-ball. Visitors can also try their hand at writing with a quill pen.
