Events in the Town of Amherst

Is your student ready to go back to school? Virginia requires certain vaccinations before entering 7th and 12th grade, and the Amherst Community Vaccination Clinic is making it easy and free for families! Insurance information will be collected if available, but there is no out-of-pocket cost for families. The following vaccinations will be available:

• Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY) vaccine
  • The first dose should be administered prior to entering 7th grade.
  • The second dose should be administered prior to entering 12th grade.
• Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine
  • A booster dose of Tdap vaccine is required for all children entering the 7th grade.
• Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine
  • The first dose should be administered before the child enters the 7th grade. Please note that exemptions are allowed.
