Founded in 1976, the Amherst County Museum and Historical Society’s mission is to discover, collect, and preserve objects related to the history and genealogy of Amherst County. They exhibit, interpret, and offer those collections to provide educational experiences for people of all ages. Visit to learn more about the rich history of Amherst County, or make use of their onsite library and Ancestry account for genealogy research.

The Amherst County Museum and Historical Society is a 501(c)3 organization (EIN: 54-1031215). It has been tax-exempt since 1978, and donations to this organization are tax-deductible.
